Dearest Lady Amundeville,
My beloved Adeline. For too long a time I have not found it within my heart to write another letter to You. I still for Your safety as well as my own. Yet I cannot remain silent any longer. I must hear of You. I must hear that You are well still no more than I must hear that I am still in Your heart.
Alas, I should also mention the recent developments here within the crown of all cities. Therefore I shall inform You that I have met with Lady Caroline recently. Indeed it was merely last night that she asked for a private meeting. For the time being I find myself unable to discern for which purpose. It would be all too easy for her to view any aspiration as a potential threat. That she has her own benefits in mind, of that I am certain. To uncover them will be much of a challenge.
My involvement with recent politics has been far too little. I shall see to it that this should change. There is much to be seen and heard within this City of Hopes and Dreams.
Yet I must end, for now. Know that I have never forgotten You, for You are constantly in my heart. I remain Your truest friend.
